Description: The following steps explain how to modify the pcm to control boost. These directions are basic at best, but have proven to work very well. Use

caution when performing these steps. If you cannot supply enough fuel or have too much timing in your timing map, you can and will cause damage to

the engine. PTB and will not be covered here. If you desire to change it, you can follow the same steps. Datalogging capabilities are needed.


Directions:

  1. Open up the Desired Torque table and multiply all the values in the bottom row(Tip voltage 2.8) by 1.1. All of the upper rows control PTB.
  2. Burn this onto your X2, then onto your car, and test to see what your PEAK boost is.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until your PEAK boost reaches your desired levels, noting what rpm it was reached at.
  4. Now that we have the desired boost in one cell, we slowly raise the remaining cells by multipying them by 1.1.
  5. Repeat this until all cells have been change to produce the smoothest boost curve possible.
  6. Next, we need to go to the scalars in the turbocharger section and change the Wastegate Adaptive High and Low limit to 20.
  7. Make sure that all changes are saved to a file.


Datalogging is needed to whatch the boost and rpm. The wastegate adaptive limits will be a positive and negative respectfully. You may find that a smaller number will smooth the boost curve enough, but it is easier to start with a larger value.
